| Bio: | I live in Virginia and am in the Children's Literature MFA program at Hollins University. I review books for the Children's Literature Database, but I think I'm often too nice about it. I welcome any serious discussion of Children's and Young Adult literature, although I have to say my main areas of expertise are Harry Potter and other YA fantasy (I classify books 4 on as YA, personally). I adore the Twilight books by Stephenie Meyer, and have found new favorites in Wicked Lovely by Melissa Marr and the Hallowmere books by Tiffany Trent. I'm writing my thesis now, which is a dark older-YA fantasy novel. I'm also working on at least one or two other YA fantasies and one historical/adventure. I tend to talk about my characters as if they're real people, especially the ones in my thesis. I frequently get into arguments with my MCs. It's kinda crazy here. :) Other than reading and writing I don't do much else. Writing takes up a lot of time, because a lot of it consists of staring out a window and thinking "what the heck happens next?" I like to hang out with my friends, play board games and watch movies. If I can find the time (and a pattern I can do), I enjoy knitting. I like to dance around and freak out my dog while I'm making dinner. The only sports I pay attention to are Hokie Football and the Triple Crown (and even for those my attention wanders). My fiance bought us a cute little house and sometimes I attempt to clean it.
