I’ve got the perfect temperament for a writer...  It's definitely a bubble-bath day. Amen, Dove Chocolate. A-men. Current mood:  crazy.
Note: A cheeseburger (from 5 Guys), fries (also from 5 Guys), and a double-tall iced toffee nut latte DO NOT MIX WELL. Ohhhhh.... I feel crappy. And I have a paper to rewrite... And critiques to do... *groan* Current mood:  sick.Current music: Guitar Transcriptions (noticing a trend?). I was going to post about how my off-feeling this past month has possibly been due to my lack of sufficient reading material... then I realized I still need to crit for tomorrow. And, uh, do a ton of other stuff. Crap. So I'm off to do that. Double-crap, just remembered I'm also meeting w/ Chip tomorrow to discuss the Paper of Doom (thesis paper that I have no idea what to write about!). So I should probably brainstorm for that. And for my paper for fairy tales (On Twilight! Yes, I am a dork.) And finish editing my submission for tomorrow into... well... submission. *needs brain checked* AHHHHHHHHH! Too much work, not enough coffee. And how is it almost noon already? Seriously, wireless goes off NOW. Current mood:  busy.
So. I've felt rather crappy the last few days. Thought I was getting sick. Still might be. However... I just got a triple-shot grande hazelnut mocha from B&N cafe. I feel human again. I have a feeling I'm going to have to push through this summer the way I got through Christmases in MO--- lots of espresso and Advil. In other news: Saw WALL-E last night. LOVED it. Never thought I'd be that engrossed in a movie where the only dialogue for like an hour was "WALL-E" and "EVE." But yes, very good. Go see it. Back to attempting to write Mordagrin. And I'm done trying to play "second in series" --- if you don't get it, I'll layer it in LATER. Deal. ;-) Current mood: busy.Current music: "So I Need You" - 3 Doors Down. ( ...because I remembered to cut... ) Current mood: busy.Current music: "How I Feel" - Kelly Clarkson. Yep, it is definitely that time again. The time when I open a word document, stare at it for an hour, type a word, then a sentence, then a paragraph, then erase it all because it sucks and start over again. Yep- Hollins time. I have 10 pages due tomorrow by noon. Ten more Thursday. Ten more Tuesday. Ten more next Thursday. And etc. until the end of July. Which means... Arion will regularly be abused as I write here. I'll possibly hide some behind a cut but more likely than not I won't, because that means I'd have to 1) remember to do it and 2) have the brainpower to do it. And after seeing the amount of work I still have to put in for Fairy Tales? *smashes head on any hard surface nearby* Right now A, C, I, J and Matt are having an argument. Well, Matt's not there yet, but he will be soon. Maybe. *sigh* My chapters are just too long for this... I'll just stop at 10 and hope it isn't mid-sentence... What Really sucks is that I'm still figuring out this book. So I haven't done any of the prep I'd done for previous classes' work, because I worked on Jora my first summer and Arion every other summer. I mean, yes, I have a whole world to build on from the first book, BUT I don't know what's going on here. So basically, we're just arguing in the basement because it's better than Arion just staring at the ceiling, like he was in the previous draft. My brain hurts already. Oh, and there's sucky wedding stuff going on, which I refuse to think about until August. Just, no. I'm going to stick my fingers in my ears and go "LA LA LA!" if I have to hear anything about finances before then. Current mood: crazy.
I got an engagement ring! And it's actually sort-of two rings. It's a solitaire with a sapphire/diamond wrap, so I can wear either just the diamond or both. Huh. Good to know. I'm still exhausted from this past weekend. Brittany and Adam got married Saturday, Joe and I were both working in the wedding and helping out, we're watching their puppy, Burden, who likes to wake up VERY EARLY... I can't imagine how much more tired I will be after my own wedding! The wedding, btw, was fantastic. Brittany was beautiful, Adam was handsome (not that this is a transient thing for both of them, just... amplified!), I had a great time dancing at the reception (I don't usually dance, this is new for me!--- no, the 5 years of ballet don't count, this is different!), and I love both b's and Adam's family. All in all, a great weekend. Well worth the exhaustion. Today I'm playing with background info again. Not for W&F, but for Arion trilogy/(quartet-ish thing). Yeah, I should probably finish W&F. And I'd love to get it done before Hollins, but that isn't going to happen, and this is info I need to know to write book 2 anyway. Or at least, I'm telling myself it is... Burden is sleeping... I hope this doesn't mean she stays up all night and gets me up at 5, like she did yesterday... Current mood:  sleepy.Current music: "The River" - Garth Brooks. In 48 hours, my best friend will be married. That is very weird, in a wonderful way. :) It is also why I will probably be missing around these parts for a couple days. Tomorrow is the rehearsal, Saturday is the wedding, Sunday I intend to sleep for as long as Burden will let me.... At least, I don't think we're doing something on Sunday... Are we doing something Sunday? I need an itinerary... Off to bed so I'm not all puffy-eyed. Current mood: happy.
I'm all muddled up with chapter 18 in W&F, so I'm playing with a random scene that isn't in the story. I haven't really done this with anything that wasn't Arion so far, and I'm almost surprised it worked. Good surprise, though, so yay. I really am playing, I doubt any of this scene will ever be anywhere but my hard drive, but it's pretty fun. I like playing with small town stuff. Who knows who, who shows up where unexpectedly, driving at night with cute boys. Okay, maybe that isn't all small town stuff, but it's all very real to me, and it's fun to play with. I'm a little tired for no apparent reason. I've had almost my whole pot of coffee so far (I really should break out the bigger coffee maker...), I slept in an hour longer than I wanted to (but still not late), I didn't do anything particularly strenuous yesterday. Helped b with her wedding favors, practiced bustling the train of her dress... Fun stuff, mostly. Nothing tiring. Eh, I'm just a tired person, I suppose. I feel like I should be working some on Mordagrin but I can't seem to make myself right now. And since I'm probably going to use that for tutorial (an idea encouraged by Hillary!), I don't think I want to get too far into it. I'm hoping the class will give me a clearer picture of the plot, so I don't take quite as much time wandering in it as I have in other stories. Not that I mind wandering, I just want to get at least the beginning relatively solid. I'm already looking at massive revision on W&F from changing structures, I don't really want to do that every single time I write something. Though I will if I have to... I'm also trying to find potential paper topics for the fairy tale class. Anything I come up with (and there hasn't been much so far) always feels... typical. I don't want to write a slightly varied version of a paper I've heard a zillion times before. I want to research something a little different. But I don't really think critically often, so no ideas have come yet. I'll have to brainstorm a bit. Hopefully K. will be back at some point soonish (I can't remember where she is right now...) and we can chat. She always helps me come up with/ talk out any ideas I have for my papers.
